Background
Ron Fontenot Sr. co-founded Colorado Futuretek (CFTEK) with John Henson in 2010 and served as the organization’s first president. Ron was heavily involved in the operations of Colorado Futuretek until his death, serving as an instructor, along with holding several different offices throughout the years.
The vision of CFTEK is to help African American and other underrepresented minority students and senior citizens bridge the “Digital Divide” and thrive in today’s technology-driven world. To date, the organization has helped hundreds of middle and high school students in the Denver area to learn more about technology careers, obtain internships, and move towards high paying careers in the IT and Computer industries. They have also provided thousands of hours of free, basic computer training to senior citizens across the city.
