Roman Jacob Pawlyshyn passed peacefully in his sleep at home on October 21, 2022 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Maria Pawlyshyn (née Olesnicky), sister Lyuba, son Igor, daughters Sofia and Olenka, son in law Alexander, as well as 4 grandchildren: Irene, Alisa, Vera and Sasha. He was born in Ukraine and moved to the United States in early 1980’s. He worked for Svoboda newspaper until his retirement in 2000. Being an avid lover of science, he has elected to donate his remains to medical research at Robert Wood Johnson in Piscataway, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Ukraine to help in the war effort.
