Background
My father recently passed away from aggressive cancer. His last dying wish was to help other veterans. So here I am in the beginning steps of making his wish come true.
I am starting a nonprofit organization in honor of my father, Rolando Pou. My father was an Army Veteran and served for the most of his life until he retired.
The day before my dad died he looked at me and said, "Take Care of My Soldiers Jack," and I knew exactly what my dad wanted me to do.
The name of the nonprofit is Take Care of My Soldiers Inc. and the purpose of the non profit will be to help veterans who need transportation and assistance with moving.
As a caregiver for my father, I met so many veterans who didn’t have the transportation to look for housing or pay for moving costs. Some veterans I met were alone and didn’t have family members to help them. That’s where we will step in.
With your support, we will raise the funds needed to establish the 5013-C status and help pay the remaining loan amount my father owed on his car. My husband and I will provide rides to veterans who need help finding housing, help them with the application process and hopefully we will raise enough funds to help them pay for moving costs, their security deposit and first month's rent.
My father had so much pride in his Sahara, Jeep and decked it out in all things Army paraphernalia. He also had pride in helping his fellow comrades. We plan on continuing his legacy by using the Jeep to help vets.
