Roger's obituary
Roger Williams Sr., 90, of Ocklawaha, Florida, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025.
Born on October 12, 1934, Roger lived a life defined by service, craftsmanship, and deep respect for history and tradition. He served his country as a proud member of the United States Navy.
Roger was a man of exceptional skill and unwavering dedication. After his military service, he spent the majority of his younger years living in Fairborn, Ohio with his children and first wife Marilyn Williams. He started and ran a successful construction business from the skills he had honed in the navy, supporting his family and passing down those skills to his son Timothy. He also channeled his passion for American heritage into the art of traditional craftsmanship. As a master mountain man and historian of Native American cultures, he meticulously recreated authentic frontier-era attire and tribal regalia. From hand-stitched moccasins to elaborate chieftain headdresses, each piece he created paid tribute to the unique traditions of individual tribes, reflecting both his respect and his extraordinary attention to detail.
An accomplished taxidermist, Roger’s work spanned a wide variety of species and earned him recognition in published works. His artistry preserved the natural world with integrity and reverence. He also had a gentle spirit and deep love for animals, always ensuring that his pets were well cared for and cherished.
Roger is survived by his wife, Beth Williams, and his four children: Roger Williams Jr., Trudy Wilson, Tim Williams, and Donnie Williams. His legacy also lives on through his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom carries forward a piece of his story.
He will be remembered as a husband, father, and grandfather, a proud veteran, and a gifted craftsman whose life was marked by purpose, honor, and a profound appreciation for the world around him.
