Some people are legends in their own time. Others are merely legends in their own mind. Not too many are both of those, but I think Roger was one of them. Which is to say he was a guy who talked big and lived even bigger. A jam-packed Hotel for 3 hours at the Celebration bears testimony to how many lives he touched over the years and how much he will be missed. Hugs to all the Simota family, who I know will miss him most of all.

Rodger took our disabled boy Jacob under his wing for years and they became good friends. We live down the lane and most days Jake would walk down and help Rodger with a chore or just hang out. It sure meant alot to Jake to have a friend so close by. He will be missed!!

I'll never forget this as long as I live, and I think about this line almost everyday and share this with others as well. It's helped me through a lot of situations and is a great lesson. It was a Wednesday night and Roger stopped over on the way to basketball and I said I didn't feel up to it and was going to stay home. Rog looked and me and said, "You know, there's a lot of times I didn't feel up to it and I went anyway. Because, at the end, you'll never regret it." I looked at him and thought, damn, he's right. But I think about that not just for ball or working out, but in so many instances in life. It's taught me seize the moment. And, as we have seen, it's extremely important as none know how many more moments we have left. I'll miss you Roger.  Till we meet again.

Loved Roger and family from the very first time we met them..

Frank had a hardware store in Trempealeau and Frank and Roger became fast friends!!!

Roger is the reason we got to purchase our beautiful lot on Hunter Lane.. from Bud and Jane Hunter!!! After Lil and Mike I think Roger and Mary purchased their lot and we were next…have a lot of beautiful memories…will miss Roger’s smiling eyes when he laughed.. I am sure Frank and Roger are sharing a beer and talking old times as we speak!! Love you Mary and Katie and Will and family..
