Roger's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the Peterson family announces the passing of Roger Peterson, 83, of Amador City, on April 25, 2025, after a valiant battle with lung disease.
Roger was born on November 6, 1941, to Lester Peterson and Josephine Peterson in Manhattan, KS. After graduating from Manhattan High School in 1959, he went on to major in Business at Fort Hays State University. Shortly after graduation, he landed a position as a salesman for Westinghouse Electric, kicking off a lifelong career in the electrical industry. Roger grew up with his wife Connie in Manhattan, and they began dating in 1956. Their lives took separate paths for a while, but they reconnected and married in 1987, residing in Morrison, CO. They moved to Amador City, CA in 1997, where they opened The Miner's Pick, an antique shop specializing in mining artifacts. After retiring, Roger spent his time restoring mining artifacts. He became a well-known expert in that field and published many articles sharing his knowledge. Roger was predeceased by his mother and father, and son Brian Duby. He is survived by his wife Connie, his children Christi Dale (Bill), Todd Peterson (Constance), Chad Peterson (Kim), Amy Duby, Tony Peterson (Tena), grandchildren Amber Landis, Bryce Peterson (Paola), Trent Peterson (Ashley), Kai Duby (Sarah), Tyler Peterson (Kamryn), Perrie Duby Sheffield, Will Dale, Scott Duby, Sophia Duby, Tate Peterson, and eight great grandchildren.
Please join us for a Celebration of Life for Roger on November 22, 2025, at 4:00 PM at 14207 Main St, Amador City, CA. It will be an occasion for all of us to remember and honor a life well-lived, a man well-loved, and to find comfort in our shared memories of his unique presence in our lives.
