Roger's obituary
Roger David Parker, 77, of Burleson, Texas, passed away on May 30, 2024.
David, known to his loved ones as Pops, was an incredible Husband, Dad, Pops, Great Pops, Uncle, and friend to anyone who was lucky enough to cross paths with him. He had a special way of making everyone feel cherished and valued, and never passed up an opportunity to let you know how glad he was to see you. Before his battle with dementia, David was a hard worker who also knew how to enjoy life, especially by spending weekends with his family. Despite the challenges he faced, he maintained his welcoming spirit till the very end, finding happiness in the presence of those around him, even if he couldn't always recall who they were.
He is survived by his daughter, Tippi Parker; granddaughters Kayleigh Wallace (Michael) and Briley Taylor; great-granddaughters Lianna and Emily Wallace; sons Russell Pearson (Jennifer) and Bradley Bates (Andi). David was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille; brothers Maurice and Buddy Ray; sister, Renee; son, Wesley; and wife, Judy.
In his free time, Pops enjoyed exploring local lakes with his metal detector, always on the hunt for new treasures. He also found joy in working on various projects in his garage, tinkering with anything he could lay his hands on. At the end of his life, he spent all of his free time loving on his dogs and chatting with whoever made time to stop by to see him.
David's warm and welcoming nature will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
