Roger's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Roger Medina, who was born on January 5, 1951, and entered eternal rest on November 22, 2025. Roger was a beacon of kindness, warmth, humor, and independence. His friendly and helpful spirit touched the lives of all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on family, friends, and community alike.
Roger is survived by his devoted wife, Carol Medina, the love of his life. Their marriage was a true partnership, rooted in mutual respect, deep affection, and unwavering support. Carol stood beside Roger through every chapter of life, offering constant love, encouragement, and strength. Together they shared a life rich with cherished memories—quiet moments, joyful celebrations, and the simple daily rhythms that defined their bond. Carol was Roger’s confidante, caregiver, and greatest supporter, and he was endlessly grateful for her compassion, loyalty, and presence. Their love story, marked by laughter, faith, and enduring commitment, remains a powerful testament to a life shared fully and faithfully.
Roger grew up in a large family with five siblings: Betty, Rose, Don, Willa, and Henry. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings, Rose and Henry, with whom he shared a lifelong bond built on family traditions, laughter, and being there for one another through life’s many seasons. Roger deeply valued his role as a brother, and the relationship he shared with Rose and Henry remained a meaningful and cherished part of his life.
A mentor to many, Roger lived with grace, acceptance, and quiet strength, offering wisdom and resilience through both his words and example. His greatest pride and accomplishment was his family. He lovingly raised his daughters Christina, Lisa, Courtney, and Ashley, guiding them with patience, integrity, and unconditional love. He found immense joy in his role as a grandfather to Taylor, Aleyah, Jimi, Charles, Robert, Nathan, Kyle, Caleb, Ella, and Blake, each of whom brought him boundless happiness and pride. Roger’s love also extended to his cherished puppy dog, Macy, who held a special place in his heart.
The family will honor Roger’s life with two memorial services at St. Lawrence Martyr Church in Redondo Beach. A Rosary will be held on January 8, 2026, at 6:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Mass on January 10, 2026, at 9:30 AM.
