Roger's obituary

On September 26, 2025, Mrs. Roger  Curry passed away peacefully.

Born in Austin, Tx to James Roger and L.E. Smith, Roger was described as a bundle of joy. Her father was so proud of her he named his daughter after himself. Mrs. Curry accepted Jesus in her heart at a young age. In 1963, Roger met Pennsylvania Curry (PC). They enjoyed 59 years of marriage and raised 4 children together.

Roger was passionate about entrepreneurship and owned several businesses throughout her lifetime. She and her husband owned a restaurant in Gardena, CA and a janitorial service and a floral shop in Corona, CA. Mr. and Mrs. Curry were the proud owners of Picture Man Art and Framing located in Rialto, CA. Roger was once an independent consultant for Amway, Partylite, and Princess House. Roger was a lifelong learner constantly learning new skills and advancing her professional knowledge.  She's attended secretarial school, classes for paralegal and notary services, and countless courses to advance her career within Los Angeles and Riverside Counties. After retirement as a Environmental Services Supervisor with the County of Riverside, Roger volunteered with AARP as a tax consultant. She later joined H&R Block as a Tax Specialist. Mrs. Curry valued her work with H&R Block and enjoyed meeting new people while helping them with their tax needs.

Roger was a fierce believer in civic duty often volunteering  during elections at polling sites, calling voters and donating to political campaigns she believed in.  She was an active member of Vine-Life Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA before moving to the High Desert where she later joined Destiny Christian Church in Victorville.

Roger's greatest joy was being a mother then a grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Roger was our biggest cheerleader and our constant supporter. Our family would not be where it is today if we didn’t have Roger as our matriarch. Her prayers, encouragement and love will be missed. She leaves behind her husband, Pennsylvania "Picture Man" PC, two children and a host of grand, great and great-great grandchildren and cherished family. Services will be held at Rose Hills Mortuary in Whittier, CA.
