Roger's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Roger Alvarado Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on February 22, 1967, Roger left us too soon on November 2, 2024.

Roger attended Fox Tech High School in San Antonio, Tx and later built a lifelong career as an automobile mechanic and HVAC Technician, skills for both trades that he mastered and took pride in. Roger took so much pride in his trades that he collected many tools to complete tasks to perfection. Roger was not done until a job was perfect. Roger also mastered the skill of yardwork. He took pride in the appearance of his lawn; perfectly trimmed edges and cut grass. He grew a few plants, including a lime tree and fruits and vegetables. Roger shared the abundance of anything he grew  with everyone he could. Roger was proud of his accomplishments and truly treated each job as if it were for his own family.

As a valued member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, he practiced his faithfulness to God by praying and attending church services even when he was faced with physical challenges. Roger surrendered  his life to God on December 8, 1996.

Roger had a personality larger than life. He was known for being loud, funny, and a big teddy bear of a man. Roger knew no stranger.  To those who knew him well, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather - a person who held immeasurable love for his family. His determination and impatience were simply signs of his genuine spirit; always pushing forward and never willing to settle for anything less than the best.

However, it was not just his  personality that made Roger unforgettable, but also the lessons he taught to those around him. Among these was his belief in treating everyone with kindness. He made it his mission to remind everyone they were valued, respected, and loved, a testament to his genuinely loving nature.

Roger leaves behind a rich legacy of love and forgiveness - a tribute to his strong heart and welcoming spirit. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa E. Alvarado, sons, Roger Alvarado Jr. (Jennifer Alvarado), Josue A. Alvarado (Raquel Alvarado), daughters, Laura C. Alvarado Sparrow (Jay Z. Sparrow), and Kayla D. Balderas (Jesse Balderas),  7 grandchildren, Chloe L. Balderas, Vicente A. Alvarado, Jesse Balderas Jr. Christian J. Alvarado, Persephone Alvarado, Olivia R. Alvarado, and Shilo N. Sparrow. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Johnnie Alvarado, David Alvarado, Rey Alvarado and 1 sister, Estela Alatorre. He is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Alvarado.

As we mourn Roger's loss, we remember his love for life, his laughter, and his boundless love. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the "R. Alvarado Sr. Memorial Fund for Rosa Alvarado". This fund is a testament to Roger's devotion and love for his family and is set up in his memory to continue his legacy of love and kindness.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him. https://everloved.com/life-of…
