He later embarked on a successful career at Kurt H Volk in Milford as a machine operator. After moving to North Carolina in 1994, Rod began a career with DSC Logistics, from which he retired in 2005. Rodney was a proud cancer survivor and a devoted husband who dedicated his life to the moments that mattered.
Throughout his life, Rodney was passionate about a variety of interests. He enjoyed the simplicity of a good "bowl of macaroni", the refreshing taste of root beer, orange soda, grape soda, and ice tea. His favorite artists were Johnny Cash and Charo; and he found joy in watching TV Shows like Taxi, Barney Miller, and Frazier. Rodney loved the excitement of sports, loyally supporting the Cubs, Steelers, UNC Tarheels, and NY Rangers. He was a fan of movies, especially Elmer Gantry and enjoyed playing cards and board games.
Renowned for his quiet demeanor, when Rodney spoke, people listened. His favorite local spot was at Seven Seas, and he cherished every trip to New England that he and Sue shared.
