Rodney's obituary

Rodney Vance Oathout, 54, of Parkville, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2021, at NorthCare Hospice House with his wife Jodi at his side. He died following a one year battle with Pancreatic cancer.
Rod was born February 2, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska, the youngest of four sons of Donald and Cheryl (Naab) Oathout. His mother preceded him in death. Rod graduated from Central High School in Omaha where he was quarterback of its state championship football team. He later received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Iowa State University where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta.
Rod’s career as a Professional Engineer spanned 30 years. He was currently Global Energy Services Leader for DLR Group in Overland Park, Kansas. He was an active member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers).
Rod was united in marriage to Jodi Ann McDonagh on May 30, 1997 on the island of Kauai in Hawaii, and they are blessed with three children, Samantha, Evan and Cooper.
Along with his father, Don, Rod leaves his brothers, Rick Oathout, Randy Oathout (Brenda) and Russ Oathout (Lynn); as well as eight nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.
A memorial celebration will be held…..
