Rodney's obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, Rodney Alan Lynam, on January 16, 2026. Born on January 6, 1950, Rodney lived a life marked by presence...the rare ability to make people feel seen, welcomed, and at ease.
Rodney was a devoted father who loved his family deeply. He is survived by his son, Travis, and his daughters, Rebecca and Janelle. He was the kind of man whose warm smile and quick humor made you feel instantly at home. He had a gift for lightening ordinary moments, easing conversations, and leaving people glad they had crossed his path.
He was someone you could count on. Someone you could laugh with. Someone you learned from, often without realizing it at the time. His influence stayed with you; it was felt in the quiet ways he showed up, in the consistency of his care, and in the calm strength he carried through life.
While our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in the promise of Heaven and the assurance that this is not goodbye, just "see you later". Rodney’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the love he gave so freely, and the memories that remain vivid and alive in those who knew him.
Nostalgia, though painful, is a beautiful thing...it means we experienced something real. Someone real. Someone who stopped us in our tracks and mattered deeply. What a gift it was to know Rodney. What a gift to have shared life with him.
His favorite song was John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” a reflection of his unwavering love for home and family. In honor of the life he lived and the love he gave, we ask that you take a moment now...reach for a family member, hold them close, and tell them they are loved, that they belong.
There is nothing more precious than a moment lost; the next best gift is this moment now.
