No description of Rod’s life would be complete without mentioning the extraordinary staff at Avita of Stroudwater. Through the ups and downs of Rod’s life since July 2014, when he moved to Maine, they created a life of meaning, purpose, and love. They learned his funny riddles, gave him ways to be of service, laughed with him often, and ensured that his life was filled with hugs and great love. For this, we are eternally grateful.

Obituary

Rodney Gene Drown, 82, made his peaceful transition early Christmas morning, 2018, at Avita of Stroudwater in Westbrook, Maine, his loving home for the last 4 ½ years. Rod, known to many as “Joe,” was born on March 20, 1936, in Barton, Vermont and grew up in West Charleston, the son of Gladys Smith and Carl Drown.
