Jeff's obituary
Rodger "Jeff" Cardwell, a man of notoriety and vivacity, quietly passed away on August 14, 2023. Jeff, as he was better known by his family and friends, was born in 1950. A man of dignity, love, and an unfaltering zest for life, Jeff's legacy will perpetually thrive in the countless hearts he touched.
Jeff is survived by his dedicated and loving wife, Jenette Cardwell. Their love story wasn't just about the years they spent together, but about the life they built, the obstacles they overcame, and the joy they shared. Jenette, his pillar of strength and beacon of light, will remember and cherish every moment spent with him.
It is with heavy hearts that we remember the loved ones Jeff was predeceased by; his caring mother, Pauline Cardwell, and his compassionate sister, Terry Cardwell. Their memories are etched in Jeff's life story, and he held them close to his heart until his last beat.
He is also survived by his niece, Krista Godat, who treasured him as the best uncle. Jeff's zest for life and his infectious laughter will continue to be the melody in Krista's memories of him.
Jeff was a fervent fan of The Bears sports team. The thrill of the chase, the suspense before the win, and the jubilation of victory - he loved it all. Watching their games was an activity he not only enjoyed but lived for. Jeff also found great pleasure in fishing, an activity that he considered not just a pastime, but a means of connecting with nature and deriving tranquillity from its serenity.
A Celebration of Life for Jeff will be held on August 28, 2023, at 1:00 AM, at Lawrence Park. This gathering is not only to mourn Jeff's departure but to celebrate the colorful, vibrant, and meaningful life he led. As we remember Jeff, let us remember not just the fact that he died, but that he truly lived.
