Rodger and Jonnie's obituary
Rodger attended Ontario Christian and became a successful business owner in the Agriculture Industry. He was founder and owner of Eagle Livestock. His family were blessed to have had such a wonderful provider. He was an amazing father and he loved his children unconditionally.
Jonnie Lynn Camping was born in Greeley, Colorado to parents Kenneth and Norma Shaw. She too was a middle child with a younger brother, Scott, and beloved elder sister Cristi Barcelona. Jonnie’s father bred racing horses and her mother had a natural talent for music. Playing just about any instrument she laid hands upon. Jonnie loved horses, was extremely artistic and was able to see the beauty in everything and everyone around her.
Rodger and Jonnie were married June 1st, 1973 and stayed faithfully married for 48 years. They resided in the City of Chino, California, where they raised three children: Jeremiah James, Nathan John, and Christine Nicole. Rodger also owned and operated his business Eagle Livestock, for 38 years, in the City of Chino. While Jonnie did not mind getting her hands dirty, she much rather be at home or anywhere her children were. She loved to spend time with them and was known far and wide for the birthday and holiday parties she put together and so graciously hosted.
As her children grew Jonnie loved to further her education and studied art whenever she could. She also became a very talented and gifted floral designer. One of her many passions was teaching and passing forward the many talents God bestowed upon her. They were both active members of their Church for many years. Rodger was a Deacon, a Cadet Leader, and enjoyed Men’s Fellowship. Jonnie loved to serve and also lead a Women’s Bible study, she was an active volunteer in the Church nursery as well as GEMS. The last several years of their lives together they enjoyed fellowship at Calvary Chapel Chino Hills, Victory Baptist, and Little Church in the Pines.
They both loved the outdoors, spending time and making memories with their children and grandchildren. They had long term plans of living out their days in the Henry’s Lake cabin that they designed and built themselves. So much thought and detail was put into the drafting of their dream cabin; from the hand carved wood work, to the lakeview great room. So much thought went into the plans that they even hand picked every single piece of cedar that was used in its construction. Why cedar you might ask? They had chosen to build the entire place from cedar just like God had instructed Noah to do in the design of the Ark.
They are loved by so many and hearts broken over this tragic loss. They were together in their Chino home with their daughter by both of their sides when they each took their final peaceful breath. They passed literally days after one another and now are free from pain and alongside their Lord and Savior. They will be greatly missed and no one will ever forget of the warmth, love, and compassion that Rodger and Jonnie had shown to so many.
