Roderick's obituary
Rodrick was called “Rod” by many who knew him. He grew up in Goodrich, TX and attended public schools there, where he excelled in academics and sports. He graduated from Goodrich High School with honors. Upon graduation, Rod enlisted in the US Marines and was stationed at Camp Lejune located in Jacksonville, NC. After being honorably discharged, Rod gained employment with the NC Dept of Transportation where he worked as a supervisor until his untimely transition. He was truly a hard worker and in his spare time liked to use his mechanical expertise to fix cars. Rod invented the term “girl dad” because he simply was the best father to his four girls. He loved his wife, family, and God unconditionally. He was loved and to know him was to love him.
On October 13, 2021, God needed him and called him home. He was proceeded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 28 years, Tara Wyatt, Daughters: Rotaria Boone (Anthony) of Hampton, VA, Saigelynn Wyatt, Paisley Wyatt, Valley Wyatt, Grandaughter: Kaliana Boone, Parents: Rufus (Jody) and Erma Wyatt of Goodrich, TX, Brothers: Pastor Keith Wyatt, Cody Wyatt of Livingston, TX, Kerry Wyatt, Quincy Wyatt of Goodrich, TX, Mother in Law: Freddie Leonard, Brother in Law: Demarcus Simmons, Special friends: Kenny Redd, Jimmy Sessom, Sam Baldwin, George Lewis, Willie Felton, and a host of other relatives and friends.
