Well my Dear. Here we are almost to the Anniversary of your leaving me behind. Just this month it was your Birthday. You would be 71 years old, and you got I your wish, I am catching up with you. Heather and I abided by your request not to have any memorial or services for you. But I know your leaving this Earth shocked and saddened so many people. I miss you so much Big Guy that it was almost to hard to stay. Our daughter lost her Dad. Something I could not relate to. I felt you all around me that Summer, I even heard you. When I sold out house and moved back to Salem, I will be leaving the porch light on for you. I will love you forever my Dearest.

Dear Jann,
I just learned of Rod's passing. I am so very sorry, my old friend. I remember when he would pick you up at Regis after school in his truck! You truly had a special relationship to have been together for all these years. I'm not sure where this came from, but hope you find some comfort in these words - "Remember him in the quiet of falling leaves, the sparkle of running streams, the majesty of towering peaks, the melody of singing birds and especially each morning in the warmth of the rising sun." Rod will always be with you in spirit. Take care, Jann.
Heather - grace and peace to you and family at this time of loss.

Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
I wanted to share a funny story about my Dad.
He worked at a saw mill most of my childhood, and he hated his boss.
Everyday to work my Dad would wear a red trucker hat that had " take this job and shove it" printed on it.
I know where I get my dad's from..
When I left a job I hated a few years ago I played the song in my office on my last day...
He is my older brother so I’ve known him for a few years. He is why I got to date Mark wasn’t supposed to date tell 16 but Rod told Dad that Mark was ok so started dating him at 15 . So thank.

TO MY LOVE. We were only kids whene married. So young yet so in love and determined to make this last forever. We didn't make it to forever but we will always be together in our hearts. And I know Rod is waiting for me on the other side of the Veil with his arms wide open and a good laugh. We will have so many stories to share again. Until then My Love. I Love You Forever. LOVE Janny

So for the loss of this wonderful caring man. He treated me like his own whenever I would visit. He was so kind, loving, and carrying to his wife, daughter, and even her close friends. I always knew I was welcome at his home.
The first time I was invited to dinner at his mom and dads home. I was dating Rick, his oldest brother, and so I met the whole family that day, I was so nervous I wouldn't even take my coat off, so I only remember it was a big, in more ways than one, family. 52 years of loving this family, and Rod is the first sibling we have had to say good bye to.
