Rochelle's obituary
We regretfully announce the passing of Mrs. Rochelle Flotten of Pleasanton, CA on January 18, 2023. Rochelle was surrounded by her family and passed away peacefully.
Our mother, Rochelle, was one of the strongest and most courageous women to ever walk this earth and our family was so blessed to have her as our mother. Her grandchildren were her world and she loved to have them spend the night and return them to her daughters spoiled and completely wiped out. They called her Nonni and loved her endlessly, always begging to visit her. Never visiting her grandkids empty-handed, candy or toys were always in tow on visits, and she would spend hours playing whatever they wanted.
Rochelle met her loving husband, John in 1969 and they fell in love instantly and were engaged to be married after six months. Happily married for over 53 years, they shared a love like no other and loved each other deeply. You would always see them holding hands and close to each other. Rochelle’s love for the ocean brought them to the Carmel Valley for many long romantic weekends.
Rochelle loved and cared for everyone around her especially her neighbors where she lived for over 46 years. Rochelle was always busy, loved to spend time her in garden, and take long walks with her husband and their dogs. Her most cherished love of all, her cat, Marley who was her companion these last years and always by her side. Forever a chocolate lover, the ladies at See’s candy knew our mom by first name!
Rochelle was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her. She is survived by her husband, John Flotten, her three daughters, Amy McMullin, Annmarie Freitas, Katie Mendoza, her grandchildren Hayden McMullin, Hannah McMullin, Kai Freitas, Adrian Mendoza, Landon Mendoza, her sister Diane Ward, her nephew Chris Ward, and two nieces Wendi Moradian and Dina Trombettas.
Please consider a donation in Rochelle’s name to the Valley Humane Society in Pleasanton, as this organization was important to her and her love for animals. Services will be held on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 10 AM at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 3999 Bernal Ave, Pleasanton, CA 94566, reception to follow at the church hall.
