Robyn's obituary
Robyn Laurin (September 25, 1956 - March 9, 2026)
Robyn Laurin, a devoted mother, mentor, and "extra mom" to many, passed away at the age of 69 after a 19 month long battle with colon cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, leadership, and a family that knew they were always loved.
A Life of Service and Strength
Robyn was married for 41 years to the love of her life, Ken Laurin, who preceded her in death in 2018. Together, they built a life centered on family and adventure. Robyn was known for her formidable will; she was a woman of deep conviction who never wavered in her opinions.
That strength was channeled into her community through over 20 years of service to the Girl Scouts. As a troop leader, she didn't just teach outdoor skills; she mentored several troops of girls, guiding them from childhood into adulthood.
Summers on the Water
Robyn loved to be near the water. Her happiest memories were forged during summers spent camping, boating, and water skiing at Lake Shasta and Lake Trinity. Time not spent at the lake was often spent in “Laurin Park” aka her backyard swimming and barbequing. In later years, she found peace and camaraderie at Lake Tulloch, surrounded by close friends and the scenery she loved.
The "Extra Mom"
Robyn’s kitchen, and her heart, were always open. She was the "extra mom" to countless friends of her children, offering a unique blend of:
Home cooking: Delicious food cooked from scratch.
Solid Advice: Grounded in her years of experience.
Unwavering Support: A safe harbor for anyone who needed it.
Good Old-Fashioned Gossip: She loved a sharp conversation and a good laugh.
In her later years, Robyn stayed active water walking at the pool with her friends, enjoying meals out, and perfecting her homemade “concoctions.” Her time with her inner circle was always defined by two things: joy and infectious laughter.
Family and Legacy
Robyn is survived by her two daughters, Kayla and Victoria; her brother, Bobby & nephew Jimmy. As well as her beloved grandchildren, Alanna and Neil. She also leaves behind her three "grand dogs" (Bailey, Russel, & Lola) who will miss her cuddles.
"A mother is she who can take the place of all others but whose place no one else can take.”
