Here’s to a life well lived
By a woman
Who knew her worth in this world.
Who knew who she was.

Robin Claire Ross

A woman who knew how to
Give and receive love
Who was unapologetically fierce
When it came to those she loved.

A woman of faith
Who practiced what she preachedβ€”
Which wasn’t a lot. Robin was not preachy.
She was decisive.

A woman who did not suffer fools gladly
She was a straight shooter
Refreshing in her knack for cutting to the chase
When a situation warranted it.

A woman who moved through the world yet;
Who knew how to always
Make others feel at home.

Who knew she would leave us so soon?
Much too soon.

Robin: my buddy, my homegirl, my sister-friend
You made life sweeter, funnier, easier.
You were a great friend.

May your spirit be uplifted
By the love and gratitude
From all who miss you already.

Your soul has gone on ahead
But your spirit--and you
Will never be forgotten.

Much love, sister.

I have avoided posting on this page because it made the passing of Robin even more real and permanent.

Robin and I met on the first day of second grade for our daughters at The Gooden School. I knew the minute that I met her that we would be friends!

Robin had a unique way of making everyone feel special, important, and valued. She listened fully, deeply, and with thoughtfulness. Robin had the gift of hospitality and made everyone feel included and loved. She could cook for an army or whip up something delicious in seconds – you never left the Ross home hungry!

I never imagined in my wildest dreams that we would only have a 10-year friendship – we joked about sitting in rocking chairs together when we were old. Robin was my best friend, comadre, sister, parenting partner, Ethel to my Lucy, and life advisor. I know in my heart that she felt the same way about me.

We always ended our conversations, texts, and telephone calls with β€œI love you” and I am grateful that our last words to each other were of love for each other.

Robin, I don’t know what to do. You were the first person that I wanted to call and talk to when I got the horrible news. You will continue to be the first person that I will want to talk to forever.

Until we say I love you to each other again,

Dorothea

It hurts my heart to even have to write this. I am going to miss you so much Auntie Robin. Thank you for everything you have ever done for me, I cherish all the memories that we shared together. You cared for me as if I was your own daughter, and I truly appreciate that. Thank you for all of the pasta with butter and cheese. I can't believe that we never took a picture together, it was always Savannah and I. I am ashamed that happened, but I have always loved this photo I took of you. You are in my heart forever. πŸ’—

Barbara and Family: I cannot fully express my sorrow for your loss. Robin has left us with great memories - always giving of her Love, her smile, her laughter, and her words of wisdom.
GOD has truly added an β€œAngel” to his army...keeping all in my prayers . Gloria Spear
I’ve known Robin for three years, since I started tutoring Savannah. From the very beginning, I experienced her as warm, generous, and kind. Things that stood out to me about Robin: She used vibrant colors to make her home beautiful. She was generous and gracious with a light heart and understanding spirit. I loved overhearing her speak Spanish with Gloria. She understood and believed in Savannah, was creative and proactive about Savannah’s education and knew that education goes beyond academics to life. She had a beautiful laugh. I will miss her and so can only imagine how dearly she’ll missed by family and close friends.
Robin thank you for the friendship we shared In Christ we found each other and I was blessed we hit it off. You believe and encourage me during my business venture. Your β€œHey Chica” with a big smile was my favorite greeting and I will miss hearing that: keep watching over us and keeping us on track until we meet again in Christ!
