Bob's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robin Robert Gross, affectionately known as Rob, Bob, and sometimes Hank. Bob went to be with his maker peacefully at the age of 70.
Born on January, 1954, in Superior Arizona, to parents Jack H. Gross and Eleanor. Bob was a free spirit whose passion for life could be felt by everyone he met. Bob wore many hats. When young he worked in a furniture store and oil refinery. He drove a cab and worked on Wall Street in New York. He pursued his passion, theater and acting. Later he lived in San Francisco and returned to his hometown of Fresno. A talented mechanic and skilled handyman, he could fix just about anything that was broken. Bob was always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
Bob loved to travel, be in the mountains and to visit the ocean. He possessed an insatiable love for music, particularly the soulful tunes of Leon Russell. He played guitar. Sporting events sparked joy in him as well cheering for his favorite teams. He loved to listen to Christian radio. Above all, Bob's faith in the Lord Jesus Christ guided him, instilling a sense of purpose and compassion that defined his unique spirit.
Bob cherished those he loved above all else. He is survived by his partner of over 30 years, Glenda, and his two beloved sons, Garrett, mother Angie, and Robert, with mother Marla, and his grandsons Chase and Wade.
Bob’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and his unwavering spirit of helpfulness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he may have departed from this life, we take comfort in the memories and lessons he has left behind, pushing us to celebrate life and help others as he always did.
Rest in peace, Bob; your free spirit is now gone home to be with the Lord and your warmth will be forever imprinted within our hearts.
Service will be Friday March 7th 1 p.m. Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno, CA. Those wishing to remember Bob are encouraged to do random acts of kindness in his name as he so often did.
