My husband, Terry and I met Bob and Vivian at Oro Valley CC in 1998. Right after we joined OVCC. They were assigned to play our first round of golf with us at OVCC. We became fast friends and enjoyed spending time with them over the years.
In response to "When was the last time you spent time with Robert?"
Pom Pom will be missed so much! He was a grandpa to our kids as well. We are lifting Vivian and John and Suzanne and the girls up in your grief. Much love to all xoxoxo Tim & Stefanie, Claire, Will & John Kelley

We had just moved into the neighborhood and Bob and Vivian invited us over to a house party. We new nothing about them except that they were warmly inviting us into what would be a great neighborhood. Our boys were 2.5 (Michael) and 5 (Robert) and Michael  insisted on wearing his complete Viking costume - horned hat, shield, chest plates, and with sword in hand he marched up the hill to their house at the time. I tried to apologize for his get-up, but Bob and Vivian wouldn't hear of it...no apology necessary... Bob, Vivian and all of their guests loved it...he and his costume fit right in and that's when we learned about their involvement in opera. Kind neighbors who did so much for the Arts in Oro Valley.

I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He has touched so many peoples lives through his love of the arts and his unwavering support. Bob planted the seed of my appreciation of the arts  and taught me so much. My sincerest condolences to Bob's family. Heaven is an even better place with him there!
It's been a hole in my heart since Bob passed away. He was the most decent honorable man I have ever met and I consider him my best friend. He was an extraordinary man, and it is a loss, a real loss for the community and for me personally.
From Marge Eggerding: "Bob and Vivian are our dearest friends. Dick and I have known them both for 30 years. Bob will be missed dearly from our lives. We are sending so much love and prayers to Vivian and family for their loss".
I have know Bob for 55 years. My wife Penny and I will miss him terribly.
MynGod Bless both he and Vivian.
In response to "What did you learn from Robert?"
My sincere condolences to Vivian and the family. I met Bob in Oro Valley while it was under GOVAC. He invited my HS students to perform at SAACA events, then he was always a great supporter of Tucson Repertory Orchestra. Bob, through SAACA, invited TRO to perform at the St. Andrews in 2015, and we had a wonderful time. Great supporter of the arts, and the young. Thank you so much for your contribution to the Southern Arizona community. Last time I saw him was at the Catalyst's opening party. Thank you Bob for all the years of service and sharing your joy to others.
Bob was the first person to introduce me to GOVAC, which preceded SAACA. He knew, from talking to me about my interests, that I would really enjoy working for this arts organization. And it was true. Thank you, Bob Weede! Southern Arizona is so much more enriched thanks to you!
I cannot imagine how the arts in Tucson will survive without Bob's dedication and passion. He was tireless in his dedication to educating the community about the art form of opera. He was also a truly good man who was always willing and happy to serve others. I especially remember his faithful support of Elizabeth Chadwick during her final illness.
My sincere condolences go to Vivian and their whole family.
God bless you, Bob! I know you are singing with the angels!
The world and I will miss this quiet, gentle man who tirelessly promoted the arts and opera in our community.
I remember him at all of the concerts in Oro Valley.  He was a very dedicated and special man.  His memory will live on.
My deepest sympathy to Vivian, and my deepest prayers in memory of Bob.
Thank you Bob for bringing many wonderful art programs to Oro Valley! Your legacy will always be remembered! Rest in peace!
