Bob's obituary

In Loving Memory of Robert F. Teal Jr.

Robert “Bob” F. Teal Jr., age 63, of Janesville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Janesville, surrounded by his children and family.

Bob was born February 12th, 1960 in Janesville, Wisconsin; the son of Robert F. and Betty (Staver) Teal, Sr. After graduating from Craig High School in 1978, Bob enlisted in the Untied States Navy. He was a dedicated and proud Navy veteran who served on the USS Midway and Leahy, honorably serving our country until 1981. He loved to share his memories of the diverse cultures and breathtaking scenery he experienced in Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines. He carried a strong work ethic throughout his life, instilling the belief in his children, “If you’re gonna do it, do it right the first time”. He took great pride in his education, and throughout his career as a Power Plant Engineer. He also found joy in playing guitar, cooking, hunting, and fishing. His extraordinary life was a harmonious blend of melodies, flavors, and the great outdoors, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob’s large heart brought people together, creating memories around campfires, family gatherings, Christmas parties and the like, that will forever be treasured.

Bob is survived by his children; Robert (Shannon) Teal III, Katie (John) Kruse, and Samantha Teal; his grandson, Jaxson Kruse; his mother-in-law, Anne Carver; and siblings; Vicky (Paul) Reilly, Allan (Melody) Teal, and Lorie (Steve) Bendever. Also, his very special nephew, Rick (Cara) Pfiefer. Bob was also a father figure to his chosen daughters, Megan Buck and Ashley Rasmussen, whom he loved very much.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Teal, Sr.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Mercy Hospital in Janesville who made Bob’s final days as comfortable as possible.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on a later date in Janesville, Wisconsin. Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting his family with his final arrangements.
