Bob's obituary
It is with sadness and relief that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Lockhart, a beacon of positivity and love! Born on August 4, 1942, Bob spent his life exemplifying the virtues of kindness and joy, leaving a resounding legacy cherished by all who knew him. His jovial nature, engaging smile, and silly antics brought laughter and light into the lives of many, creating joyful memories for those fortunate enough to cross his path.
Bob was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in February 2022. He showed extreme strength and courage on all his decisions regarding his treatments. Everyone around him felt blessed and appreciated the time spent creating precious memories.
A sweet soul, Bob nurtured a beautiful relationship with his beloved family. He cherished and loved his wife Joan for 62 years. His daughters Sharon (Rob) and Lyndsey (Greg), were his heartbeat and he treasured his time spent with them, as both little girls, and as adults. He also had a deep adoration of his grandchildren, Jordan (Lucy), Sara (Gary), James, Noah, Ben (Robin), Alex, Maya, and Laura whose lives were enriched by their granda’s unwavering love, support and giant bear hugs. Bob was also blessed with 2 amazingly adorable great grandsons, Max and Joey. Bob will also be missed by his siblings, Aileen, Sid (Nancy), Ray (Carmen), John (Lynn), Brian (Julie), Julie (Danny), Pauline (Colin), and Kathleen (Bowman). He was a beloved uncle to many who are currently celebrating his life from England.
Bob was loved by many close friends who considered him family. He was a like a granda or father like figure to many of his neighbours in Burlington and to the soccer players that he coached.
In honour of Bob's life, a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on June 7th, 2024, at the Royal Botanical Rock Gardens in Hamilton; a setting fit for commemorating a man of Bob's vibrant character and love of nature. In the same day, another celebration of Life will be held in England. Details to be announced.
Bob's legacy is one of positivity and intense love for family. His spirit will continue to live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he cultivated within his family and community. Even though he is no longer physically present, his influence and the love he left behind will continue to echo through time, etching a lasting image of a man who was not just good, but truly special.
