How you can help
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Bob spent countless days in his youth enjoying Echo Park.
A refuge in the city, he spent afternoons fishing, people watching, admiring the lily pads and the Los Angeles skyline, and playing tricks on paddle boating teens.
Even as he spent his final years in Palmdale, over an hour North - he kept Los Angeles close at heart. When he could no longer get around he entertained others with stories of the city. He often said he could close his eyes and still imagine himself sitting on a familiar bench in Los Angeles.
Please join us in honoring Bob's memory by contributing to our fundraiser. All contributions will be donated to the Los Angeles Parks Foundation Donate-A-Bench Program to memorialize a bench in his beloved Echo Park.
- With $1500 a dedication plaque will be placed on an existing park bench inside Echo Park
- With $3500 a new recycled materials bench will be placed nearby his favorite fishing spot in Echo Park
- With $4000 a new steel bench will be placed nearby his favorite fishing spot in Echo Park
With this bench we honor Bob's memory, help others enjoy this beautiful and historic park, and provide a restful place for him to sit when he comes home. Contribute
