Chief Master Sergeant Robert Ray Hawkins, 84, of Schertz, TX, passed away in his home on December 03, 2024.
Robert was born on August 1, 1940, the beloved child of Cecil Ray Hawkins and Ila Faye Lancaster in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. After graduating from Paschal High School in 1958, he enlisted in the Air Force, kicking off 26 years of service starting as a Load Master and later in Manpower Management. While in the Air Force, he obtained his bachelor's degree in business administration at the Baptist College at Charleston. In 1977, he met Yong Mi in Pyeongtaek, South Korea while stationed at Osan Air Base. They wed in 1979, having two children, Lisa Hawkins and Robert Ray Hawkins Jr.
After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as a Civil Servant for the Navy until 2002. Robert spent his time fishing, golfing, barbecuing, and watching his beloved Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys.
Robert was predeceased by his father and mother, Cecil Ray Hawkins and Ila Faye Lancaster. He is survived by his wife Yong Mi Hawkins, daughter Lisa Hawkins, son-in-law Jonathan Pilkington, son Robert Hawkins Jr., daughter-in-law Katrina Hawkins and granddaughter Adalyn Hawkins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
