Robert's obituary

Robert “Bob” Allan Rash, 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Venice, Florida, on April 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on September 20, 1946, in Rochester, New York, Bob was the eldest child of Eugene H. and Elsie Rash. He grew up in the village of Hilton, NY, alongside his younger siblings, William (Bill) and Nancy.

Bob proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, earning distinction as a highly decorated veteran. Following his military service, he began a long and successful career with Xerox Corporation, where he worked as a Technical Representative for 37 years until his retirement in 2005.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Noreen Gibbs-Rash; his cherished daughter, Kimberly Gerew, and her husband, Jeff; and their children, Ava and Max. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Nancy Norton; his niece Autumn Braase and her husband Jason; his former wife, Patricia Rash; his nephew Jeffrey Rash; and his stepsons, Henry and Daniel Forest, along with Daniel’s wife, Chasidy, and their children, Sarah, Lydia, and Gannon.

Affectionately known as “Gumpy,” Bob was deeply proud of his grandchildren and found immense joy in their lives and accomplishments. His warmth, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be remembered always.

Bob’s legacy of service, dedication, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
