Our brother Robert Jerome Proesel, died in Vernon Hills, IL on March 20, 2026. Born on June 27, 1957, Robert's time on earth was characterized by the uncomplicated life he led. 

Robert lived with a challenging disability which gave him a pure soul and inherent goodness. He was the kindest among all our siblings. He enjoyed helping our mother, British history and metal smithing when he was younger. This is the last photo we have of Robert, while visiting our mother. Little Jane Austen is loving on him, and mom is pointing that out.

As we say goodbye to Robert, we celebrate his life, but most importantly, we cherish the time we had with him. May his life inspire others to always be kind, helpful and loving. You will not be forgotten big brother, as long as our lives and memories last, we will remember. We will see you again in heaven.

Robert is survived by his mother Eleanor, siblings Bonnie, Brenda, Glenn (Shari), Paul, Diane Layng, Donna (Greg) Anderson, Jerry (Jennifer), Mary (Joel) Aguirre. He is also survived by his six nephews and eight nieces.
