Bob's obituary
Robert Paul Olson, also known as Bob, passed away on September 14, 2023, at the age of 77 in Chandler, Arizona. He was born on October 11, 1945, in Seattle, Washington, to his parents Telva and Melvin Olson, the youngest of their three sons along with David and Ronald. Bob was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Bob was loved by everyone who knew him. His infectious sense of humor, kindness, and easy-going personality made him a joy to be around. He was a great friend, a wonderful father to his children, Brandi, Jeremy, and Lindsey, and his kitties. Bob was also a loving husband to his wife, Patricia. His grandchildren, Ronnie, Shelby, Jeremy, Kaia, Kaiden, Lillie, and Jayce, brought him great joy and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Bob attended Chief Sealth High School and later pursued higher education at the University of Washington. He was the Rush Chairman and President of his fraternity, Phi Kappa Sigma. After completing his education, he dedicated 43 years of his life working as an agent and/or manager at State Farm Insurance.
Outside of his career, Bob served as a President of the JC Chamber of Commerce in Renton, inducted the first JC chamber of commerce woman in the nation, and started the Bikeathon for MS in Seattle. He had a passion for attending Husky games, gardening, carpentry, watching sports, beating his children in Wordle, winning cents and dollars at the casino, and playing with his cats. He enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family, always bringing laughter and joy to any gathering.
Memorial services for Bob will be held at a later date in White Center, Washington. In honor of his love for the University of Washington, attendees are kindly requested to wear Husky Gear or purple and gold.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel located in Mesa, Arizona.
Bob will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
