Russell let me know about Rob's passing. It is heartbreaking news. I met Robbie in third grade and we became fast friends. We were side-by-side for the next 10 years, graduating from Shaun Cassidy to the Beatles and Ramones though regular treks to the old Record Exchange on Westheimer. I still have a yellow vinyl copy of "Road to Ruin" that Rob gave me for my 14th birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better friend to grow up alongside than Robbie. He was smart, caring, funny, and deep. Although we drifted apart in the late 80s and lost contact aside from a brief communication on Facebook in 2011, I never stopped thinking about him. I will always hold Rob in my heart with deep affection. My condolences to his family and friends.
I just found out about this today, Nov. 12, 2024. I was completely unaware. Rob and I were pretty inseparable in high school, and we roomed together our first semester of college. We drifted apart, but I have tried over the years to catch up with him on Facebook, and I guess he never got any of my messages. It's terrible news. Rob was a great guy. My condolences to his friends and family.
