My condolences to the Oliver family. Bob and I met through the Golf Writers Association and enjoyed several rounds of golf together, along with fun times at the PGA Show and the ShopRite LPGA Classic. A funny and thoughtful man, taken too soon.
Cathy and I are so sorry for Ellen and Liam for the loss of Bob. I am full of empathy for them. All my golfing life, I have often thought of Bob when I am golfing. It is (thanks?) to Bob that I took up golf and still continue to try to improve in a very frustrating sport. After seeing me hit a good shot one time, Bob said: "See? there you go...good shot. Now just do that 71 more times in a row and you'll make par.. it's easy ".  Well, maybe not so easy. Just like missing Bob. He is teeing off on that heavenly course in the sky now, definitely in a better place.
Liam, sorry for your loss of your dad, Bob. prayers for you and your mom🙏❤
Bob started dating my sister Ellen when I was about 4 years old. They were married when I was about 8 years old. He has always been my 5th brother. He did so much for my sister Ellen and our family and I will never forget that. He gave me my nephew Liam, who I helped raise, and is an amazing young man and son. Don't worry about Ellen, Bob, Liam and I will make sure she is well cared for and loved.
I love you, Uncle Bob I will miss you. I will alway remember how you made Aunt Ellen laugh when you guys came to visit. You were so much fun. Rest In Peace
I'm very sorry for your loss.  I always enjoyed working with your dad - we always had a great time together and I remember him with very fond memories.  He will be sorely missed by those of us who knew his sense of humor, his kind nature, and his wonderful demeanor.

To Bob's family, I am so sorry for your loss.   He was taken from you far too soon.

Bob was an extraordinary individual.  I worked with him at Gannett and enjoyed his kindness, sense of humor and wit.  He always brought joy and happiness to every situation and meeting.  He always looked out for me and I am grateful.  He will be greatly missed by all.

Liam, our hearts and prayers go out to you and your mom. Your dad sounded like an amazing man. His life experiences touched many lives. May your fond memories of him bring you comfort.

You are an exceptional man and son caring for your dad. We wish we could have met him.

On behalf of the Southeast Hockey Officials Assc. It saddens me to hear of the passing of Bob.

He was a great friend, mentor and colleague.  He did wonderful things for SHOA while being on the Board of Directors. God Bless Bob and those surviving him.

My prayers and condolences to Ellen and Liam.  Bob served as secretary for the Southeastern Hockey Officials Assn (SHOA) for the better part of the nearly 10 years I served as president.  A trusted confidant, knowledgeable about association management issues, and above all, good humored when it was needed.  I just retired last week and went on a golf trip.  I told friends about him and that I was going to seek out a round of golf as I got my post-work affairs in order.  The obit told me even more of the things Bob had done that gave me a fuller picture of the man I knew.  Wow!   What a life!

I'm feeling very sad today about losing a friend, this friend, in particular.  I'm far richer for having spent the time we did together.
