Robert's obituary
Robert “Bob” grew up in San Francisco as one of eight siblings, and from an early age learned the importance of hard work, loyalty, and showing up for the people you love. Those values stayed with him throughout his life and shaped the way he cared for his family and everyone around him.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife, Cindy, and a proud father to his two daughters, Ashley and Trista. He was an incredibly loving grandfather to Riley andChase (Ashley’s sons) and Malia(Trista’s daughter), who brought him so much joy and pride. He also shared close relationships with his brothers and sisters and deeply loved and adored his many nieces and nephews.
For many years, Bob worked as an auto mechanic, but his talents went far beyond cars. If something was broken, he could fix it often with whatever he had on hand. He was truly the MacGyver of our family. There was nothing he couldn’t figure out, and he never hesitated to step in and help when something needed repairing.
Bob lived in Fremont, California for most of his adult life, where he raised his family and built a life rooted in hard work, love, and dependability. Four years ago, he and Cindy relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where they spent their most recent years together.
Bob not only raised Ashley and Trista, he showed up for people who weren’t even his kids. If a friend ever needed help, guidance, or simply someone to be there, Bob was right there without hesitation. He showed so many people what it felt like to have a dad, often when they needed one most.
Everything Bob did was rooted in his love for his family. Over the past several years, as his heart condition progressed and daily tasks became more difficult, his concern was never for himself. His focus was always on making sure his girls were taken care of and that his family would be okay when he could no longer carry the weight for them.
He fought with every breath he had, quietly and with strength. Bob never wanted to burden anyone with his struggles, even though he would drop everything in an instant to help someone else with theirs. That was who he was, selfless, hardworking, sincere, and genuinely good.
Bob raised his daughters with unconditional love and unwavering support. Through every obstacle and stage of life, he showed up without question. He loved his wife deeply and did everything he could to make her happy and healthy. His greatest hope was to grow old together and to make sure his family was always cared for.
He had a rare way of lighting up a room simply by being in it. Though he lived a life full of stories—some funny, some wild—he remained humble and private, always putting others first. His presence made people feel comfortable, welcomed, and loved.
Bob had a deep love for animals and would do anything for them, just as he would for people. He had a special place in his heart for German Shepherds and adored every pet that became part of his life. Recently, he and Cindy welcomed a puppy named Ryker into their home. Ryker was just eight weeks old when he came home and is now growing quickly, something Bob would have loved to see.
He also found joy in the simple things: late-night snacks, staying up too late, quiet moments, and time spent with family. Bob lived his life with integrity, kindness, and a heart bigger than most.
We are endlessly grateful for the memories we shared, the love he gave so freely, and the people he helped shape us into. Bob showed us what it truly means to show up, to care deeply, and to love without condition. His light will continue to live on through all of us.
