Robert's obituary
Robert Lynn Brown, age 73, loving husband and father of three children, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, January 5th, 2023.
Robert was born on November 15, 1949, in Elyria, OH to Clyde and Helen (Link) Brown. He attended Elyria High School, graduating in 1967. From there, he worked at and, eventually, owned Links Bakery. On July 19, 1975, he married Alice Jane King. Together, they raised two sons, Mike and Jeff, and one daughter, Laura.
Robert had a passion for baking, his community, books, politics, church, and a wide variety of other interests. But mostly, he had a passion for people, which allowed him to share God’s love with others. There was never a place Robert could go to in Elyria where he wouldn’t run into a friend or someone he knew. He helped in the school system often, was active in his church, helped in the EHS Band Boosters, and made sure to bless people as he could through the bakery. His kindness and compassion towards others were known to all of those who met him, and his warm smile - that was as infectious as his laugh - will be missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Clyde, his mother, Helen, and his brother, Warren. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Alice, his three children Mike (Becky) Brown, Jeff (Lindsay) Brown, and Laura (Alex) Sawyer, his three grandchildren (Kinley, Addison, and Jesslyn), his brothers David and Roger, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held to celebrate Robert’s life, and details will be made known when determined. In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that those who are able instead make a donation to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America, where he was an active volunteer.
