I remember meeting Bob, when he became my boss at Eaton in 2003. I asked him to mentor me while we were sitting in his pool (he loved that pool!), on an extremely hot Texas summer day, and he happily agreed to mentor me (I didn’t know what I was asking for!). We had so much in common, as we both had 3 daughters, both Christians, and shared a love for Program Management (as weird as that is). He and I spent a lot of time together from 2003-2008. I’ve never worked for a boss who supported his team more, and I’ve never learned more about work and Program Management from anyone. He taught me how to celebrate achievements. He taught me how to weather storms.  When I wanted to quit because times were super difficult, he jumped in and helped me, and my family, to create a scenario that worked for us all. I’ll never forget that. I have so many “Bob-isms” that I share with many others, and it brings a smile to our faces every time (you guys know who you are).

Even after I left aerospace, Bob and I stayed in touch. He always called when he had exciting news to share, and likewise for me. I am deeply saddened from losing Bob, he was always “bigger than life” to me, but I know that I will see him in Heaven, as I will those who share our faith.

My condolences to his family. I am sorry for your loss, but am also comforted that you too will see him again someday.

Sincerely and with love, and until we meet again, “Oh Verbose One”………

Deepest condolences to the extended Luley family.  Take comfort in the words of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ:

In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.

Bob is at peace.

Share your sympathy. Send flowers from a local florist to Bob's family or funeral.
I taught Bob how to negotiate and limit his very verbose skill in an environment where he was a neophyte.
