Robert's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Richardson, who left us peacefully on January 3, 2024. Robert was born on August 10, 1946, in Asheboro, North Carolina to Paul and Dorothy Richardson.
Robert was a native of Randolph County, and graduated from Randleman High School in 1965. Robert worked at Georgia Pacific in Asheboro from 1984 to 1998, Atlantic Packaging in Asheboro from 1998 to 2002, 3D Packaging in Asheboro from 2002 to 2008, and SMX Energizer in Asheboro from 2008 until March of 2020. Robert had a passion for all things Nascar, and was an avid collector.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Lee Richardson and Dorothy Ann Gregson Richardson; grandparents: William Cicero Richardson and Maude Ardeniar Ellington Richardson and Albert Franklin Gregson and Bessie Jane Bailey Gregson; uncles, Roy Franklin Richardson, William Howard Richardson (Howard) and wife Louise Atkerson Richardson, Donald Ray Richardson, James Worth Richardson, and Clarence Franklin Gregson and wife Lola Mae Smith Gregson. He is survived by his wife: Rea Dawn Kennedy Richardson, of the home; daughter: Alicia Karen Richardson Willard, of the home; daughter: Sherita Jill Richardson Cranford and her husband Eric Thomas Cranford of Asheboro, North Carolina; 5 grandchildren: Garrett Carter Wyrocki, Gage Maddox Ballew, Gyana Amalee Willard, Kane Lee Willard, of the home; and Crista Mae Wyrocki of Austin, Texas; nieces: Cynthia Jane Kennedy Brown (Cindy) of Asheboro, North Carolina and Wendy Laura Kennedy Gann of Asheboro, North Carolina; cousins: James Henry Gregson (Jim) of Morehead City, North Carolina, Charles Michael Gregson of Wilmington, North Carolina, Gloria Jean Yarborough of Maryland, Sandra Faye Richardson of Sophia, North Carolina, and Terri Lynn Garner of Randleman, North Carolina.
There will be no memorial services. Robert will be cremated through the services of CC Hodges Cremation by Simplicity of Asheboro, NC.
