Robert "Bobby"'s obituary

Our beloved angel Robert "Bobby" Russell Jones, passed away peacefully at the age of 31 on June 19, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bobby was born on April 27, 1987 in Sandy, Utah, to Kim Gibson and Paul Jones. Bobby is the loving fiancé of Kaylee Ruston. He is survived by his mother, Kim Gibson, father, Paul Jones, and brothers, Chett Jones and Michael Jones; sisters, Georgia Jones and Jenny Jones. Bobby is full of life, happiness and enthusiasm. Bobby has a love of learning, he is gifted in mathematics, technology, philosophy, art and music. Bobby has a passion for music and art. He loves creating and encouraging others to create. Bobby is outgoing, generous, fun and a true adventurer. He is fearless. He can do anything and do it well, he is truly inspiring. He is a force of nature in intellect, drive, communication and persuasion. One could never win a debate with Bobby, partly because of his love of language and voracious voice, but also because he was so passionate about expression, justice, and filled with compassion. Bobby loves hiking, camping and breathed in nature around him. He loved food and loved cooking, baking and creating delicious dishes for his family and friends. He is a sweet, tender, kind, compassionate, gentle spirit with a huge heart and he is always willing to help anyone in need. Bobby was especially kind to children and animals. He was a self-proclaimed “mama’s boy.” He would brag to all of his friends about his mother, and their special relationship and bond inspired others. His friends shared this about Bobby and his unique and special character:

“Bobby was a genius. The plans and ideas Bobby constantly came up with were so ahead of his time. He was so goofy and constantly making people laugh. He was one of a kind. Everyone who knew him felt like they were Bobby's entire world. He had an effect on people that made them feel immensely loved and cared for. He had the biggest heart out of anyone I ever knew... It was almost painful how hard he loved others! He impacted everyone he met and left a legacy of love and openness. He had the most beautiful soul and strongest will to create and progress. I will miss him so very much. I have so many amazing memories with him that I will cherish forever.”

“Bobby was a HUGE influence in my earlier years and played a huge part in developing the person I am today (for this I will always be grateful). He taught me unconditional love, to be open-minded, love for music and what music is and can do for a person, and to be proud of who I am. He opened my heart and mind to so many things and taught me how to love myself. He was an intense human. He loved hard, he fought hard, and he didn’t let anyone tell him who he should be or what he should do. A free spirit with so much potential and so much to offer to this world. Some of my best memories involved his goofy self. So many adventures and so many life lessons because of those adventures! To say you will be missed it the worlds biggest understatement! So many people looked up to you, loved and cherished you.”

“Bobby had so much talent, skill, and vision and had the most unwavering love for music. He was fun and just had this positive energy all the time. He was a steadfast friend and had a GREAT BIG heart. He was so nice and willing to help people. Bobby was such a beautifully passionate person and I will forever hold onto those memories. The world is left less bright in his passing.”

“You are going to be missed Bobby. You deserve happiness and peace. Thanks for introducing me to everything that defines lots of me : dbz, music, video games, concerts. I'm grateful for everything.”

”Whenever he talked to me he had a sparkle in his eye of genuine happiness, and making others happy. His is a charismatic, adventurous soul with a carefree life motivated by loving people and making sure his loved ones were taken care of. Bobby was always so passionate about anything he put his mind to, if he put his mind to it he could conquer the whole damn world. His quirkiness, and wit will be missed in my world.”

In sum, ”You cannot contain the ultimate free spirit”. Bobby loves deeply and was loved passionately in return. Bobby has changed the lives of all who knew him. Even in death, he will continue to change our lives for the better as we strive to emulate who he was and how he treated other people. Bobby has truly captured the hearts of so many and left us with so much in return.

Friends and family can pay their respects at the memorial service on Tuesday, June 26 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1953 Lone Tree Parkway, Eagle Mountain, Utah 84005. Lunch to follow the memorial service.
