From Duncan Hemstock via FACEBOOK:
Oh my. Thank you for letting me know.
I didn't spend a long time in his presence (a few months) but it was time not forgotten. We shared a lot of laughs on and off the stage and he was gracious and generous with his expertise.
Bob was a lovely man.
All the best.

From Steve Bridge via Facebook: "Bob was one of the greatest musicians to ever come out of the Kent Meridian High School class of 1967. He accomplished many things in his life, and was a wonderful man."

From Darell Leber via Facebook: "So sorry for the family's loss. I have many fun memories as a kid around Bobby. From riding on his shoulders as he crossed the deep end of the pool at the Willow Vista Trailer village owned by your folks, to piano concerts in your living room....and many other adventures over the years. One will never forget his distinctive laugh. Prayers for all of the family."

From Bobb Peters, a member of brother Phil's Wednesday am Bible Study group:Â Â
"You know we in our Bible Study group feel how this affects you. We all know how it feels when it is actually manifested in the day of death, with so many emotions and wirling thoughts and feelings. Â
And yet Peace is found somewhere in the swirling, the grief, the memories and harsh reality. Â
May you find Peace in knowing that the Battle is OVER, and God's will is done."

From lifelong friend Bruce Alkire of Peoria, IL: "I was baffled to hear of Bob's passing because it was just recently that I talked to Bobby on the telephone from his hospital bed (It turned out it was the day before Bob passed.) Bob felt God would ease any pain he had. I was pretty shocked and pretty sad too, because we have been close friends. We were not close geographically, but we were very, very close all of these years since high-school graduation in 1967. Bob played piano for my wife and me at our wedding reception at The Pierre Marquette Grand Ballroom in downtown Peoria, IL. I had the opportunity to see Bob a couple of times at our High School reunions, and I've always said Bob was the one who was gifted in many ways. After I pitched to Bob in Jr. High Baseball (he was a good catcher), Bob took a Y in the road towards music in High School. I stayed on in baseball and got an athletic baseball scholarship to USC. I can be reached at 309-696-7391 cell/text.

I talked with Bob a year or so ago. We caught up on a few things and he was interested in life here in Mexico. He was thinking of moving down. Maybe he did.

Bob turned out for football in the eighth grade for a while. He was a fantastic kicker. He could kick off and put it through the uprights and out of the end zone every time. Not bad for a trombone talent. We were in the the famous Dick Turley directed orchestras at both Kent Junior High School and then Kent-Meridian Senior High School, the greatest public high school orchestra program in the country.
