Robert Michael Johnstone, 63, of El Dorado Hills, CA, died in his home on December 28,2023.

He was born in Merced, CA in 1960 to Floyd Michael Johnstone and Wilma Jean Johnstone. Robert attended Benicia High School before starting his career.

He started as a painter at Benicia Auto Body with a passion for learning more about cars. He continued to work up the ladder making contributions at Soscol Auto Body, Standox Paint, Du Pont Paint, and retired with PPG as a territory manager after working with the company for more than 20 years. His commitment to his job was extraordinary. He enjoyed building relationships with clients and providing for his family.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father and is survived by his sisters Ramona (Bob) Padgett and Deborah (Tom) Chilcote, Robert’s daughters Katie (Alex) Kellogg and Kelsey (Andrew) Frey, niece and nephews Ashley Chilcote, Mike and Joe Padgett and granddaughter Sierra Frey.

Robert loved nothing more than going to the lake, casting a line, and fishing in the great outdoors. We will look back and see your grand smile as you reel in another hog.
