I had the privilege as a high school freshman of being parked between Bob Nelson and Bob Nelson in the BHS Band Trombone section. Bob educated me in the realities of high school during the measures of rests we did not play.. what a guy!
Damn. Hard to believe. Lived next door in the late '50's, graduated from high school together. His dad, Daryl, and my dad were best of friends; my dad at Daryls house the night of Daryls passing. I was at Greg Stewarts bonfire last summer in Bottineau, with Bob holding court.
Really a sad piece of news. And sorry to Norma (we have a bit of history.....); look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
Bob was a huge presence at ACE and he is dearly missed by students and teachers. He was the person we called to fix anything and his artistic touches are all around. With love and deepest sympathies to his family.
I'm so sorry for the loss of Bob. I'll always think of him. When I to go work at Ace everyday and and having our morning coffee with him. Bob I will miss your smiling face. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
