Robert was born to George Hall and Kathleen Wester on September 25th, 1956, in Norfolk, Virginia.

On his eighteenth birthday, September 25th, 1974, Robert joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country for twenty years until September 1994. Robert was a Sergeant First Class in the Infantry. Throughout his twenty-year career he was awarded with four Army Meritorious Service Metals, four Army Commendation Metals, and four Army Achievement Metals. In addition to his numerous awards, he graduated from Air Assault school. During his time in the Army, Robert was stationed at Fort Hood, TX, Fort Huachuca, AZ, Alaska, and Germany. He was a proud member of the Old Guard and rode the leading horse in Ronald Regan’s Inauguration Day Parade January 20th, 1981. When Robert joined the Army, it sparked a lasting passion for running long distances, leading him to complete multiple races and marathons. For Robert, the twenty years he served in the United States Army were the “glory days” of his life. Following his career in the Army, Robert served as a Federal Officer for nine years on the southern border in Arizona.

Robert’s favorite colors were red, white, and blue. Those colors were included in just about all the outfits he wore. He loved the American flag and always had one in his front yard. He understood the sacrifices made by men and women like himself to provide this nation with the freedom our flag stands for. Robert was a proud Veteran and he made it known!!!

Robert was loved by all who really knew him. He was a hard worker and an extremely generous person. He genuinely loved and cared about each of his friends. He would go out of his way to help a person in need. He put the needs of others before himself. Robert was the type of person who could always be counted on, he was a man of his word, and he always stood firm in his convictions. His loud voice and laughter would brighten even the saddest persons day. He loved to, dance, act silly, and make people laugh. He was a big kid at heart. His presence in any place or event was well known, especially when he belted “HOOAH” from the top of his lungs!!!

He was an exemplary friend and Christian man. Robert put Christ first in everything he did. He used the struggles from his past and positive outlook on life as his testimony. He is solely responsible for bringing numerous people to Jesus’s salvation.

During his youth, Robert’s friends had invited him to attend First Baptist Church of Hillsborough youth group. This is when he first encountered Jesus’s love and when he first met Pamela Beck. In January of 2013, Robert and Pam reconnected. They knew from that moment it was meant to be! Robert married the love of his life Pamela Beck Hall on July 29th, 2017. During their nine wonderful years together, Robert and Pam made many memories. Together they traveled all over the United States. Several of their favorite places include Arizona; Helen, Georgia; Branson, Missouri; Yellow Stone National Park; Mt. Rushmore, and Gatlinburg, TN.

Robert was a family man. He loved spending time with Harvey, Big-D, and John Wayne, his numerous sisters-in-laws, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He loved his Granny and his Mama. Throughout his life, Robert earned various titles. The title of Paw-Paw was his most treasured. He had an extremely close special bond with his daughter Danielle, but Samuel his nine-year-old grandson was the apple of his eye!!!

Robert is survived by his “Queen” wife, Pamela and their children, Danielle and son-in-law Edward Huffman Jr. of Graham, NC, Megan, and son-in-law Dustin Ferrell of Killeen, TX. His children, Brandon Hall, Katie Hall, Chism Hall, and Duke Hall. Beloved Grandson, Samuel Hightower. Granddaughters, Saylor Huffman, Lorelei, and Monroe Ferrell. His brothers Sherman and V.L. Hall. Many nieces, and nephews that he adored.

Robert brought a special light to this world, and it continues to shine. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and by all who had the honor to know him.
