Robert's obituary
He was born in Santa Monica, CA to Modesto and Darlene Gutierrez on June 16, 1962. Robert grew up being a protector of his sisters and had a knack for carpentry early on. Robert continued his love of building as an adult and worked alongside his father in construction for several years before venturing out on his own. He was always willing to help the family with their home remodels and would go out of his way to be there for his loved ones every chance he got.
Outside of work, Robert loved spending time with his family, kids, and beloved dog, Buddy. He had a love for fishing and rock music and enjoyed playing cards and throwing a football. He had a soft spot for his mother, always showing his affection and care towards her, and he had a best friend for life in his older sister, Kellie. A man of faith, Robert proudly kept his grandfather’s bible at his bedside his entire life, and his family finds some comfort in losing him, knowing he is now with the Lord.
Robert’s proudest accomplishment was being a father to his children. They all have fond memories of their dad making them laugh and thoughtfully planning special moments together. Becoming a grandfather brought him great joy and he loved spending time outdoors with his grandson and doting over his granddaughter.
He is survived by his three children, Noah, Brianna and Nicole as well as his grandchildren, Shae and Noelle. He also left behind his mother, Darlene, father, Modesto, and his three sisters, Kellie, Tammi and Traci, adored nephews, as well as his extended family and friends. We will all miss him more than words can say.
Anyone who knew Robert was touched by his kindness, humor, and thoughtful spirit. He was truly the peacemaker of the family and was a constant source of laughter and love.
A celebration of life is being planned in June 2022 in Grants Pass, OR– further details forthcoming.
