Robert's obituary
Robert "Bob" Eugene Gross, born January 8th, 1964, was suddenly taken from us on Monday, April 8th, 2024. Bob passed away peacefully in his home in Port Orange, Florida, due to an ongoing battle with numerous medical issues.
Bob was born in Evansville, Indiana, where he grew up and graduated high school before moving to Albany, New York, where he met his wife. Bob and Lisa shared 30 beautiful years of marriage, which they spent traveling, spending time with family, and indulging in shared hobbies such as concerts, sporting events, and riding their motorcycles.
Bob eventually settled in Florida, where he continued to grow his family.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lisa, and children, Derek, Jennifer, Travis, Michaela, and Ashley. He leaves behind his children's spouses, his grandson Mac, and nephews Tommy II, Joshua, and Joseph. He also leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Donna and William, his stepbrother Jeffery, his sisters Lisa and Jeanna, and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas, and siblings, Tommy and Debbie.
He loved food and hospitality, which led him to work in the restaurant industry. Bob worked for Denny's for over 25 years, his last position being the General Manager of the Port Orange location.
Bob was a known sports fan dedicated to the Indiana Hoosiers and Jacksonville Jaguars. He was always a fan of the spotlight and loved making people laugh. Bob would often be the first to crack a joke or embarrass himself with a smile. He always offered assistance, especially to his children, when needed. While a stubborn man, he shed love and happiness for those around him.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. We will always miss him, and his light will continue to shine upon his loved ones.
A celebration of life will be held on April 25th at 7:00 p.m. at the Riverwood Plantation clubhouse, located at 6200 Riverwood Drive, Port Orange, FL 32127.
