Robert's obituary

Robert George Morris (Bob to his friends and family) was born on October 22nd 1931, to parents George E. Morris and Margaret S. Morris, in Beverly Hills, California. As a child, he loved to swim and was a diver in high school. In college, Bob graduated from Stanford University for his undergraduate studies. After serving in the army (during the same time and place Elvis was serving Bob said a few times) he returned to Stanford to get his business degree and eventually became a Certified Public Accountant. He would marry and divorce, but his marriage created two loving and grateful sons, John Robert Morris and Wendell Garity Morris. Bob went into business with his friends, and their company Mammoth Parks Development Company was the first to develop vacation properties in Mammoth Lakes, California. He would remain an independent businessman his whole life as he raised his sons and put them both through college. Bob loved to sail, and he bought a home to raise his kids, right on the beach in Marina Del Rey, right near to where he kept his boat. Until he and his friends no longer could, Bob and the crew would go sailing every Wednesday during racing season, and oftentimes win. Bob was active up until his last days, and was vibrant and jovial throughout his entire life. Bob passed away on July 2nd, 2024, at the age of 92; he had been sick for a few months, and after a short rally where it seemed he was improving, he passed quickly and without suffering, in the presence of family. He is survived by his sons John and Wendell, daughters in law Ilka and Luisa, and grandchildren Alex, Dane and Aden. He will be forever remembered as a bright and positive presence in other peoples’ lives, and will be forever missed and appreciated by all those who love him.
