Bob's obituary
Robert George Carlson, born on January 4, 1945, in Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2025, in Austin, Texas, with loving family at his side. He was 80 years old.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Tom Carlson, and his brother-in-law, Lewie Smith. He is survived by his beloved sons, Casey (Kathy) and Corey (Mary Alice) Carlson and grandsons, Mitch and Zach Carlson; his siblings, Sandra Smith, Patsy (Mike) Janowski, T.J. (Wilma) Carlson, and Mary (Jim) George; and many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Bob lived in various states, including Montana, Arizona, and Texas, embracing the diverse experiences each location offered. His career path was as varied as his residences, having worked as a hospital administrator, insurance adjustor, roofer, and RV salesman.
Bob enjoyed numerous hobbies, such as camping, fly fishing, cross-country skiing, playing tennis, and reading. He cherished the simple pleasure of sharing a cold beer with friends. Above all, he treasured his sons, grandsons, and his kitty, Maggie.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Bob’s wonderful neighbors in Round Top, Texas who looked after him and to the amazing staff at Dell Seton Hospital for their skilled and compassionate care.
Bob’s legacy of love, adventure, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
