Robert's obituary
Robert Foster was born 11/6/1926 in Chicago, IL, the son of Jesse and Goldie (McNeal) Foster, both proceeded him in death. Robert was the 3rd out of 6 children born to this union.
Robert graduated from DuSable High School, then went on to Roosevelt University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Business.
Robert was an amazing, devoted, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married the love of his life Della (Hereford) Foster (Littlekins) on 10/22/1966. Blessed into this union one daughter - Robin.
Robert who loved his church(s) was a long-time faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder and Bible teacher and a faithful charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Robert retired after 40 years as a Business Agent for Amalgamated Clothing and textile workers union in 1989.
Robert was an active charter member of Bread Basket which transformed into Operation P.U.SH. under the direction of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson. He enjoyed attending Saturday services and serving where he could within the organization for many years.
Robert especially loved going on his morning walks. He was known to greet everyone with a ‘One More Day’ as he made his way around the plaza. Robert was filled with so much rich history from the life that he lived. It was always a pleasure for anyone that had the opportunity to listen to him to walk away knowing that they just had a unique history lesson. Loved for his kindness and thoughtfulness he will be dearly missed by all who have been touched by his warmth and passion.
Robert Foster at the age of 95, received his wings and crown on 05/19/2022, surrounded by his loving family. “Well done, good and faithful servant! Come into your eternal rest.” (Matthew 25:23, 34)
Remaining to cherish Robert’s memory are his beloved daughter Robin; “his boys” grandchildren D’Vaughn Robert and Deven Benjamin; One loving sister, Pearl Harris; Brother, Kenneth Foster. His special niece Linda Collier; special nephew Marcus Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Robert in death are his loving and devoted wife Della H. Foster; brothers, Carl and Jesse and Sister, Wenona.
