Bob's obituary

Robert Emery “Bob” Davidson, 82, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona.

Born on September 27, 1942, in Springfield, Missouri, Bob was the son of Lauren G. and Colleen Davidson. He grew up alongside his brother Tom Davidson, who preceded him in death. Throughout his life, Bob remained deeply connected to his roots and family values.

Bob was a graduate of Dury College in Springfield, MO. During his college years, he worked for the Springfield Parks Department, and after graduation, he joined the Missouri Parks and Recreation Department.

Bob dedicated his professional life to public service through a long and meaningful career with the Department of Energy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After retiring, he embraced the joys of leisure and creativity with the same passion he brought to his work.

He shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Gail Davidson. Together, they built a life centered around love, laughter, and family. Bob was a devoted father to Leslie Davidson and Whitney Sturges and her husband, Jason Sturges. He took immense pride in his role as grandfather to Kate Reynolds, Jake Sturges, and Max Sturges.

Bob had a zest for life that was evident in everything he did. He found joy in golfing under open skies, crafting intricate stained glass pieces for loved ones, tending to his yard with care, and unwinding on the patio with those closest to him. One of his proudest accomplishments was building a cherished cabin in Red River, New Mexico—a place where family and friends made countless memories over the years.

Those who knew Bob remember him as a gregarious and warm-hearted man who never met a stranger and always took a genuine interest in others. His presence lit up every room he entered. He was not only a great husband, father, and grandfather but also a loyal friend whose kindness left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

In addition to his parents and brother Tom, Bob was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Hewitt.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held at a later date. Bob’s legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the many lives he touched along the way. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
