Robert's obituary
Robert “Bob” Duane Thompson, 77, went home to be with the Lord and his heavenly family Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at UC Health Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO. He was born January 22, 1946 in Downey, California to John & Dorothy Thompson.
Bob was the eldest of seven children, Eileen, Joan, Richard, Rebecca, John, and David. Bob attended Downey schools and graduated from Downey High School and California State University, Fullerton. He lived in Downey, Montclair, and Yucaipa before moving to Colorado several years ago. Bob was a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Army. He worked hard all his life as a marketing specialist and independent contractor. Bob was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed telling jokes, sharing pictures or comic snap shots, taking pictures and cooking. He loved people and having fun. He gave us lessons, love, affection, assistance & laughter. He was a kind and loving man to family, friends and strangers. He was a force who left a lasting mark.
Bob was a proud Father, Grand Father and Great Grand Father. He is survived by his wife Jerry Thompson, five daughters Tiffany Pickel, Sara Menor, Jill Patterson, Jennifer Reichelt, Amy Gonzalez, two step-daughters Crystle Southam, Kacina O’Donley, four siblings Eileen Tucker, Joan Martin, Richard Thompson, & Johnny Thompson, twelve grandchildren Anthony Gonzales, Lily Gonzalez, Sean Pickel, Blue Gonzalez, Wesley Patterson, Dean Reichelt, Dylan Reichelt, Cire O’Donley, Jonathan, Nathan, Megan & Katelyn Southam, five great grandchildren Ava Gonzalez, Amila Gonzales, Millie Gonzales, Sebastian and Keara O’Donley.
Bob was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Dorothy Thompson, brother David and sister, Rebecca Romano. He was buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
