Bob's obituary
It is with heavy hearts and loving memories that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Cotton. Born on June 13, 1933, Robert embarked on his final journey on June 19, 2025. Known affectionately to many as Bob, he preferred to be addressed by his given name, Robert. This was just one of the many small, endearing details that made Robert the unique, cherished individual he was.
Robert leaves behind his loving daughter, Monika Cotton Goins(Norman), and his devoted son, Micheal Cotton( Linda). They are a testament to Robert’s enduring love, strength, and guidance, traits that were the cornerstone of his role as a father. Robert was predeceased by his own parents, Dale and Marcy Eugene Cotton, and sadly, his son, Ronnie Cotton. The deep love he bore for his family was unrivaled, a constant source of comfort and support to them.
In 1956, Robert had the joyful experience of getting married, a memorable milestone in his life. His personality was a blend of wit, charm, and warmth. He enjoyed making others laugh, and the depth of his heart was evident in every interaction. One of the key life principles Robert espoused was to live, laugh, and love, treating others as you would wish to be treated—a mantra he lived by and imparted to those around him.
Robert was a proud servant of his country, and his engagement and activity within his community were among his proudest accomplishments. He was a man of action, dedication, and unending kindness, contributing significantly to the betterment of his community.
However, Robert's greatest legacy is one of kindness, and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him. His presence, full of laughter and love, will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His beloved grandchildren, Travis, Jason, Lily and Mike Jr. who he adored without measure, will hold his memory close to their hearts.
We join together in remembering Robert's remarkable life and mourning the loss of a truly exceptional man.
