Robert's obituary

Robert Charles Peters Jr.

December 5, 1960 – July 12, 2025.

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Charles Peters Jr., known to many as "Bobby" and to his daughter and grandson as "Papa". He took his last breath on July 12th, in the presence of his daughter, dear friend and loving caregiver Sheri and her son Nick.

Robert was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, on December 5, 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Charles Peters and Lila "Mike" O'Neall (née Mitchell).

He is survived by his loving daughter Amber, son-in-law Tong, and grandson Tyler, as well as his elder sisters Peggy and Susie, and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had many brothers/sisters in faith who were like family to him throughout his life. He believed that your family isn't just who you're related to and he loved so many people like they were his own family. Several of those people stepped in to care for him in his last days and we will all be forever grateful.

In addition to his faith, Robert will be remembered for his comedic charm, quick wit, musical talent and selfless spirit. Despite having little, he gave freely to those in need—whether they were friends, family, or even strangers. He was known for always lending a hand to someone stranded with car troubles, plumbing issues, garage door repair needs, or almost anything else you could think of. He believed in helping others without hesitation.

For those who knew him, they know he was a very special, sensitive man with a unique way of thinking. He may not have always agreed with you, but he would have helped you in a heartbeat if you asked (and sometimes even if you didn’t).

He often said that the time spent at the lake while his daughter Amber was growing up were some of the best moments of his life. The love and joy he felt during those days were etched in his heart forever.

We hope to honor Robert’s memory with humor, love, and a deep appreciation for the man he was.

Per Robert’s Wishes: There will not be a service. However, the family invites you to share any happy memories or stories you have of Robert in the comments below. We would love to hear how he touched your life.
